MANTRA

I met fellow pianist Joe Houston as a student on the Masters course at the Royal College of Music and we began working together in 2015, driven by a shared desire to learn and perform Stockhausen’s ‘Mantra’ – an epic work from 1970 for two ring-modulated pianos and additional percussion.  We have performed the work across the country at venues including the Universities of York, Birmingham, Kent and Sussex, and have enjoyed introducing such an icon of the Twentieth Century piano duo repertoire to new audiences.  We were also ensemble in residence at the Cheltenham Music Festival Composer Academy 2016, have given numerous workshops for emerging composers and look forward to performing the work on future occasions in venues around the country.
